They Give, They Take

The final instalment of the Invasion series I don't think I've mentioned before has been released.

Yay.

Details are here and the patch notes are here.

Some of the "features" so far seem to be the continuing renaming of some modules to confound bots and old people.

The new inability of the wallet to load transactions faster than my kettle boils a cup of water.

Also the removal of ore from mission sites and similar that was worth mining.

Queue the confusion about the new potential abandoned state of most citadels, and having to answer the same questions about them over, and over, and over, and over.

And over.

I suppose the story line for chapter 3 of Invasion will play out, and hopefully it's cool.

Right now though it seems to be heaps of stick and not enough carrot.

News Roundup and Some Other Stuff

Oh, and for those keeping score at home, I did not receive a reply from CCP for this.

Never mind.

I suppose we need some sort of presenter for the sometimes monthly posts here, how about one from CCP?  Well sort of anyway.

Eve Russia Cancelled

Eve Russia was cancelled.  No surprises there.  I don't see many large events happening before October 2020, and even that will be too soon for some places the virus has barely touched yet.

Surgical Strike

Ahh yes the great nerf of 2020, over and above, at least in some minds, the other great nerf of 2020, COVID-19 I'm looking at you.  Everyone will adjust.  It's happened before, it'll happen again.  We need change or Eve Online will grow stale.  Staler.  Stalest.  Huh?  Either they are actually words or the spell check has just thrown its virtual hands up in the air and has left for the day.

Nope, still here.

In hindsight, that could be a place in Iceland.

Some SKIN or something

Boring, don't care.

The Hunt was live

This was an interesting one, and I saw plenty of the strange pods laying about, so it seems some folks gave it a go.  Wasn't able to myself, became rather busy.

That is it.

Netflix and Eve Online

Possible spoilers ahead, you've been warned.

Recently appearing on Netflix, at least in Australia, is the Iceland based crime series, The Valhalla Murders.

It's a fairly typical Scandinavian crime series, long shots of the panoramic scenery, the cold, the desolation, you get the idea.

However in episode three, surprisingly, it has a mention of EVE Online, EVE Valkyrie, and then soon afterwards, a short game play demonstration.  Further on in the series EVE Valkyrie is mentioned again.

As the series is based in Iceland it isn't too outlandish that CCP had some sort of sway over the creators, and that would explain their addition, but it could also just be a coincidence.

I've approached CCP for comment and have yet to receive a reply at the time of writing.

Occator the Mission Breaker

A storyline mission appeared, after I'd completed sixteen normal missions?

I think that's correct.

However Eve doesn't detect the mission loot in the fleet hanger properly so it complains.

Given the ship type this isn't going to be a newbie problem, but I would have expected it to have been fixed by now.

Firing up a support ticket.
